Right now, there are two city entities involved in the issue of whether or not to bring back the pony rides. Recreation and Parks (RAP) has created a Pony Rides Task Force Commission, and wants to hear from you! The Cultural Heritage Commission (CHC) is also involved and is also setting up their own Pony Rides Task Force team. They are doing this because of unprecedented public interest and outreach.
Both city bodies have regular meetings, and you can call into them and make comments. The last meetings were on Jan 19th, but we will publish updates about upcoming meetings. You can also subscribe to notifications about when RAP will have meetings directly, by going here. Subscribe to notifications from the CHC here.
Whenever you call into any public meetings, please make sure that your comments include that you want LIVE PONIES back at the pony rides. The activists who pressured the city to shut down the pony rides don't want live ponies in the park.
You are only allowed one minute to speak at public meetings, so it's a good idea to rehearse your comment out loud before you call, and time yourself.
We also have some graphics you can share on social media to help get the word out to your community.
Thank you so much for supporting this cause!
